    Visiting Cape Charles, Virginia

Cape Charles, Virginia, is a beautiful beach town just 45 minutes from Virginia Beach. You’ll have to cross the 17.6-mile-long Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel, but that’s half the adventure! If you’ve been thinking about visiting Cape Charles, but haven’t made the time, here’s your inspiration for a trip!

    Play on the Bay

Cape Charles Beach is about a half-mile long and is open to endless possibilities. Take the family out for a beach day and enjoy an uncrowded beach. Or, if you’re looking for watersports, rent a couple of jet skis and make a splash. Rent a kayak and explore, or even rent stand-paddle paddleboards and paddle into the sunset! And let’s not forget fishing on the Fun Pier!

    Tour the Town

Known as the Historic District, “downtown” Cape Charles offers shopping, fine dining, entertainment, and more! Check out the unique beach shopping for gifts you might not find anyplace else! If you’re looking for souvenirs, stop by The Boardwalk, Chuckletown, or Voiajer! Then catch a movie, occasionally free, at the Historic Palace Theatre.

There are many culinary advantages to being on the Chesapeake Bay—seafood! When in season, a soft shell crab sandwich is a must! Check out The Shant or Oyster Farm Seafood Eatery to get your fill! Not a big seafood fan? That’s okay! Try The Shanty, Hook at Harvey, or Ambrogia Caffe & Entoeca!

    Distilleries

    Cape Charles Distillery

Located in the Historic District, the Cape Charles Distillery is an intimate tasting room with an outdoor seating area. Their staff is super friendly and knowledgeable and will help you enjoy your evening.

“The cocktails are so tasty and pretty! They had a great selection with liquor made in house. You can also buy bottles of their liquor to bring home. The outdoor seating is also great and has a cool Moroccan decor and comfortable seating. The service was great. We were only in Cape Charles for two days and came here both days for drinks before dinner!” – Google Review.

    Cape Charles Brewing Co.

Cape Charles Brewing Co. is a family-owned and operated brewery and brewpub. The pub has tons of outdoor seating and outdoor entertainment and offers live music.

“We visited for the first time on Saturday! This place is tucked away with the perfect outdoor setup. Tents with tables, a large fire pit area with chairs, games outdoors, and an outside bar you can order drinks/food from. This is the perfect place for family / dog-friendly!! We wish we would have brought our boy max with us as the area is perfect for dogs to play with!!! 10/10” – Google Review
